Japan Month*

To celebrate Indo Japanese friendship during the Japan Month, Indian Bonsai Association, Japan Embassy , Japan Foundation and IILM collaborated and Co hosted the event , to promote and support the Art of Bonsai.

Master Takamasa Yamaji was invited from Japan to give demonstrations and conduct workshops for members of the Indian Bonsai Association. It was a two-day event that commenced with welcome speeches by DCM Ariyoshi from the Embassy of Japan and koji Sato Director General from Japan Foundation . Saveena Gadhoke, President Indian Bonsai Association.

As a mark of friendship between the two great nations, during the Japan Month a Bonsai Festival was also organised from September 19th to 30th , 2024.

The exhibition, organised in collaboration with NDMC, was held at the National Bonsai Park at Lodhi Gardens. We were honoured by presence of Ms Eiko Suzuki , wife to the Ambassador of Japan , who kindly consented to inaugurate the festival. Master Takamasa Yamaji also did the lamp lighting as a mark of friendship and respect between the two nations.

Members of IBA participated with enthusiasm. Many beautiful Bonsai were displayed. The week long exhibition witnessed a footfall of several people a day.
